Garden of Remembrance at the Torbay Pioneer Cemetery

These Ash Plot sites are managed by St Mary by the Sea Anglican Church. To purchase an ash plot or to arrange an internment service please contact the church office in the first instance by email office@stmary.co.nz or telephone 09 4738180 or the form below.

All sales of the ‘Grant of Right to Inter Ashes’ are in accordance with the Burial and Cremation Act 1964.Each site may have only two interments.

Due to the design of these gardens some corner plots have internment sites outside of the gardens and have varied size capping stones requiring non standard size plaques.

Please contact the church office for all details on any particular site. No site can be held until payment is received.

Memorial Plaques can be arranged and paid for by the family and can be placed on the plot frontage by a professional stonemason. An updated plan of available plots and our current fees can be obtained by request from the church office. Our fees and conditions are guided by Auckland Council.

The fee for the ‘Grant of Right to Inter Ashes’ includes a compulsory element which goes towards the maintenance and on-going upkeep for these gardens. This is a one time only payment. An Interment Fee, if not paid at time of plot purchase, is to be paid at the rate as set at the time of Interment. Please contact the church office for current details.
