Welcome
As our post Easter season comes to a close, this week we celebrate the Ascension where Jesus is taken up to heaven. He has a few last words to say to the disciples as he departs. From this point on they will be in a different season of their ministry with a new mission to fulfil. God calls us corporately and individually into new things, as one chapter ends, and another begins it can be unsettling and challenging for us. And we are in such a season at St Mary by the Sea as we explore replanting to Browns Bay. The good news is that God gives us the resources we need to do his work, and not just material means but his spiritual resources. He provides the faith, strength, hope, love, discernment, peace and all the other things we need to step out in his name. Aroha Nui

Food bank. Up-date
Many thanks to everyone for your continued support of this mission.
We have supplied 3 food parcels or Good Works Shops in the last 10 days. The weather has remained thankfully mild, we are only this week at the start of official New Zealand winter this week. As the weather continues to get colder and wetter, those families that are struggling to get by on their budget will need to choose between food and heat.
We are currently have NO stock of tissues, low supply of cup a soups, can casserole type meals (if possible please buy 2 the same this means a family can eat the same thing as a family meal). We constantly need canned potatoes, mash potato powder and canned vegetables other than corn and beetroot.
If you, or someone you know is in need of a little extra support at this time via a food parcel please let Dion or the church office know. We can, by arrangement deliver the box if needed. All referrals are confidential. Referrals for food support can be made to the church office via email or telephone message at any time. These messages are checked Mondays and Fridays.
If you know someone who is struggling to provide themself or their family with food at this time of year please reach out to them to discuss a referral to our food bank. The simple question of 'Can I help?' to start the conversation is often all that is needed.
Please be mindful of your own budgeting needs but if you are able to support this mission please look a the list and see what is in need this week. Thank you for your continued support of this mission.
