Welcome
Pentecost is when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirt to the disciples. Jesus had promised he would send a helper or comforter to guide and encourage them, and the spirit came upon them in many different ways.God sends his spirit to help and comfort us in our lives today. The Holy Spirit helps us understand scripture, make sense of the world and our place in it. The spirit helps us worship God and to feel his presence with us. May God bless you and send his Spirit to encourage and comfort you today Aroha Nui

Below is an update from the Diocese on our proposal.
The Bishop has sent a letter expressing the support of the Diocesan Council for the vision of the Parish. However, they have indicated that the site at 65 Clyde Road is unfortunately not financially viable for either purchase or lease. The Diocesan Council would like to see the business case continue to develop and are interested in fostering collaborations that could provide the resources necessary to secure a future for the project. Our next step at St Mary by the Sea, is to wait and see where things go with Diocesan Council as they meet with vestry. Vestry will then bring to the parish for consideration the Diocesan Council plans.

Food bank. Up-date
Many thanks to everyone for your continued support of this mission.
This week I had the opportunity to meet up with the Food Security Network. This is group which meets monthly to exchange information and promote networking for those of us on the North Shore that work in the food security space. This group is uplifting, in as far as we can see that there is a room full of dedicated and motivated people working together on this common goal, but also it is distressing to hear that there is such a large and largely unrecognized issue of poverty and food insecurity on the North Shore.
We are currently have very low supply of Rice. We constantly need canned potatoes, mash potato powder and canned vegetables other than corn and beetroot.
If you, or someone you know is in need of a little extra support at this time via a food parcel please let Dion or the church office know. We can, by arrangement deliver the box if needed. All referrals are confidential. Referrals for food support can be made to the church office via email or telephone message at any time. These messages are checked Mondays and Fridays.
If you know someone who is struggling to provide themself or their family with food at this time of year please reach out to them to discuss a referral to our food bank. The simple question of 'Can I help?' to start the conversation is often all that is needed.
A great thing the Food Security Networks allows is for the sharing of resources and volunteers are our most valuable and in demand resource.
The Good Works Trust is DESPERATE for volunteer drives to deliver their food parcels. You can use their vehicle, drive with a buddy, help out occasionally or have a regular slot. If you are able to help or just interested enough to find out more please click the link below.

Community Shop.
The place to go for the school Ball
High School Ball season is starting in June. We are ready, at the shop, with about 60 glamorous gowns in a variety of sizes, and all for about $20 each - a very economical start to the big occasion. These will not last at this price so come and check us out, even if the ball at your school is later in the year. Come and grab a unique dress at the fraction of the High St cost.
May was another awesome month for the Community shop taking just over $12,700. Expenses need to be taken out of this.
