Welcome

Hi reader,
in 2018 we began our intergenerational journey here at St Mary by the Sea. And in 2019 Angela and I went to the international, Intergenerate Conference, in Nashville in Tennessee. This year Angela and I are going back to the intergenerate conference. This time it is in Lexington Kentucky. Angela managed to get funding from St John's theological conference for her expenses. We're flying into New York, where we will visit St Lydia's Dinner Church, and talk with them about their learnings with dinner church. We hope that we can start something similar ourselves here if we are given permission to re-plant in Browns Bay. We then head to Washington to visit the museums and have some time out. We then fly to Lexington for the conference. There is a international track before the conference for those like us who have come from overseas to network and support each other. There is then the conference itself. Angela is running two "Taste and see" workshops based on the Lord's Prayer in Te Reo Māori. Once the conference has concluded, there is then another day of ongoing learning cohorts which we will also be part of. There are so many great opportunities for us to join in with to enrich our intergenerational journey. We leave on Thursday 29th and return Sunday 15th June; please pray for safe travel for us.

Journeying with you, Dion

Food bank. Up-date

Many thanks to everyone for your continued support of this mission.
We are currently out of supplies of Male deodorants, male shaving supplies, and low supply of lunch box cereal bars, powdered milk, crunchy peanut butter.

As the cost of living continues to effect households and the weather is getting colder and wetter, those families that are struggling to get by on their budget will need to choose between food and heat.

If you, or someone you know is in need of a little extra support at this time via a food parcel please let Dion or the church office know. We can, by arrangement deliver the box if needed. All referrals are confidential. Referrals for food support can be made to the church office via email or telephone message at any time. These messages are checked Mondays and Fridays.

If you know someone who is struggling to provide themself or their family with food at this time of year please reach out to them to discuss a referral to our food bank. The simple question of 'Can I help?' to start the conversation is often all that is needed.

Please be mindful of your own budgeting needs but if you are able to support this mission please look a the list and see what is in need this week. Thank you for your continued support of this mission.

Come along to Inspire Church Albany on Pentecost Sunday 8 June for a powerful 75 minute time together. Invite your prayer warriors, invite your young people, invite your whole church!

No need to RSVP, just turn up.
