For the next four weeks we will be covering four aspects of caring for God’s Creation. Regardless of what role you think God has played in creating Creation, there is much for us to learn. A central theme of the Psalms is that all of us, humans, the Earth and all created being have been created to worship God. We worship God when we do what it is God has created and called us to do. For the grass in the fields, the psalms tell us that they worship God when they sway. We learn from Creation to slow down and to focus on what God is calling us to. Creation also helps us to go wow, look how amazing Creation is, how much more amazing must our God be!
We will look at: 1 Plant Earth 2 Humanity 3 The Sky 4 Mountains
Our call is to with the rest of Creation we worship God in all we do and say.

Food bank Update
The food bank has been given the most amazing donation from Rangitoto College. Rangitoto College held a food drive for our benefit and we give thanks for these blessings and the resources they donated.
Thank you to the great helpers who assisted in moving these donations and sorting them on Monday. We have been able to restock a lot of our food banks for the next few months and pay forward some of these donations. We sent a truck of excess stock to Good Works Trust which they will use to provide food security to families all over the North Shore.
Would are still short on canned meat:- ham, spam, chicken. No need for tuna or other fish. If you are able to add an extra can of this to your weekly shop for donation this would be greatly received. Thank you for your continued support of this mission.
We have recently been blessed with a grant that allows us to support families by helping them purchase their first shop from the Community Supermarket run by the Good Works Trust. We still have a small amount of this funding left.
If you or someone you know is in need of a little extra support at this time via a food parcel please let Dion or the church office know. We can, by arrangement deliver the box if needed. All referrals are confidential. Referrals for food support can be made to the church office via email or telephone message at any time. These messages are checked regularly and a reply can be expected within 48 hours. If you know someone who is struggling to provide themself or their family with food at this time of year please reach out to them to discuss a referral to our food bank. The simple question of 'Can I help?' to start the conversation is often all that is needed.

Celebration
Father's Day This Sunday is Father's Day.
God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation;
may they find courage and perseverance
to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own fathers around the world
whose children are lost or suffering;
may they know that the God of compassion
walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers
but still mentor and guide us with love and advice.
We pray for people who did not have the fathers they should have had.
May you comfort them and keep them safe.
We remember fathers, grandfather, and great grandfathers
who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.
— written by Fr. Healey, and posted on the St. Ambrose Catholic Parish website.

Online Worship - Sunday 10am
Scripture
1st Sept
Collect
God, our Creator, as we reflect on the mystery of our fragile planet, we celebrate the wonders of Earth as our home. Help us to discern how we have polluted our planet and to empathise with the groaning of creation beneath us. Teach us to sense the presence of God pulsing through Earth as a living green blue sanctuary. Teach us to love Earth as our home. In the name of Christ, the Word of God, who is the creative impulse in all creation. Amen
