Hi [subscriber:firstname],
Welcome to St Mary by the Sea news for this week.
It is great to be getting back to more activities and life in Level 1. It is a blessing to be able to meet in person and worship together. One change to our worship pattern will be that the common cup will not be offered. We are currently uncertain about its safety, to ensure the safety of all of us, we have a choice of communion in one kind (bread only) or individual wine/grapejuice cups. We hope to see you online or at St Mary by the Sea this Sunday.
We are quickly heading towards advent. For this next season, we will look at the discipleship practices that can nurture us. More about them below.
This week in our Discipleship Series is Worship Sunday. We look at how worship, during the week, and when we gather sustains us. There is a take away booklet for those wishing to go deeper. A PDF copy of the Worship Booklet is available here.
As we are back at level 1, or Sunday YouTube worship moves from a liturgy, music and teaching style, to a regular Video Podcast style. Did you, or will you miss out on in-person worship this week? Then please check out the video podcast, it goes live with a YouTube premiere Sunday at 10am
We look forward to joining in worship with you, Sunday 8am and 10am at St Mary by the Sea, and also 10am on YouTube.
In-person worship - St Mary by the Sea
We hold three in person worship services:
- Sunday 8am communion
- Sunday 10am communion
- Wednesday 10am communion & Bible Study
While we are in level 1, we will continue to:
- Use hand sanitiser or washing hands when we enter and exit church, as well as when using the bathroom or serving food.
- Signing-in via the government QR code or the sign in sheet
Even though we are at level 1, it is really important to sign in. We saw with the last outbreak, how critically important contact tracing is, so that when there is another outbreak, people can be traced quickly and efficiently; please sign in. Vestry have agreed that it is a condition of coming onto our properties that you must sign in either with the paper register, or the Government QR code.
We ask that if you are sick or have any cold or flu symptoms including runny/blocked nose, cough, sneezing, temperature, sore throat, aches and pains, loss of smell that you stay at home until you are better. You can attend worship when you have been symptom free for three days. If you are concerned about your or your loved ones health, please contact your GP or Healthline 08003585453
We look forward to seeing you on-line or in-person.
