Hi ,
Welcome to St Mary by the Sea news for this week.
This week in our Discipleship Series the topic is Prayer.

Our prayer weekend is coming up quickly. It is this Saturday 7th November between 8am and 8pm. There are still some time slots available if you want one, so get in quick to get your preference.

This is a great opportunity to explore creative prayer with your family or grandchildren. Come and enjoy. We pray that God will bless you during this time.

Angela & Dion

Prayer Day - Sat 8th November 8am - 8pm

We are having 12 hours of continuous prayer from 8am to 8pm this coming Saturday. Book your time slot in the online sheet below (click the purple button). We can have multiple people in a time slot, the idea is to have continuous prayer for these 12 hours. The day will open with morning prayer at 8am, end with night prayer at 8pm. There will be a prayer area setup in the downstairs lounge with quiet music, lots of candles, low lighting.

You will have an opportunity to explore prayers stations and pray:
  • Water - living water, what do you long for?
  • Wailing wall – special prayers written on paper and stuck into cracks in the wall
  • Church – images of church, worship, people, prayer for St Mary’s.
  • Images to reflect on – what image are you drawn to? Why? What does it remind you of or speak to you about?
This is an opportunity for you to take 1 hour out, and to spend it in the presence of the Holy Spirit, and to actively nurture your life.

Click the sign-up button below to take a time-slot.

May God bless you through this.

Sunday 8th November

Theme:- Discipleship - Prayer
SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:1-17 (CEV)

When Jesus had finished praying, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his followers to pray.” - Luke 11:1

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. AMEN.

In-person worship - St Mary by the Sea

We hold three in person worship services:
    • Sunday 8am communion
    • Sunday 10am communion
    • Wednesday 10am communion & Bible Study
While we are in level 1, we will continue to:
    • Use hand sanitiser or washing hands when we enter and exit church, as well as when using the bathroom or serving food.
    • Signing-in via the government QR code or the sign in sheet
Even though we are at level 1, it is really important to sign in. We saw with the last outbreak, how critically important contact tracing is, so that when there is another outbreak, people can be traced quickly and efficiently; please sign in. Vestry have agreed that it is a condition of coming onto our properties that you must sign in either with the paper register, or the Government QR code.

We ask that if you are sick or have any cold or flu symptoms including runny/blocked nose, cough, sneezing, temperature, sore throat, aches and pains, loss of smell that you stay at home until you are better. You can attend worship when you have been symptom free for three days. If you are concerned about your or your loved ones health, please contact your GP or Healthline 0800 358 5453

We look forward to seeing you on-line or in-person.

    Dion and Angela.
