Hi ,
this week we celebrate Pentecost, as we re-hear the coming of the Holy Spirit in power at Pentecost in Acts 2. For me the key to the story back then is that everyone got to hear the Story in their own language, God met them in their heart language, their language of prayer. And they heard a story that most had never heard before.

Today we have people whose life vocation is to translate the scriptures into other languages. Part of our role is ensuring that the work of people like the Bible Society continues.

And we ask the question of ourselves about whether we will allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives. Will be be constant in prayer and reading scripture so that God can speak to us through the Holy Spirit? Will we take time out to just be in God's presence, with no agenda other than "to be." Will we be open the the whisper of the Spirit.

Journeying with you, Dion.

    Covid vaccine

From late May the government is starting to roll out Covid Vaccinations for those in the population that are classed as Group 3. Group 3 covers those people aged over 65 or with an existing medical condition that would leave them more at risk should they catch Covid. If you are unsure if this applies to you, or you have questions about the vaccine and your medical condition, please speak to your General Practitioner or Healthline. They are the best place to get information and to advise you. The information from Healthline regarding the vaccination roll out is 'individuals will receive an invitation from their District Health Board DHB inviting them to book in for a vaccine. This invitation will come via email or text. Each District Health Board DHB is managing its own vaccine roll out so dates will vary slightly around the country and it may take a couple of months for all in this group to receive their invitation'. If you have concerns about how or when you will receive your invitation please contact your General Practitioner. If anyone is wanting support with booking a vaccination please feel free to contact the church office.
