This week in our series on stewardship we look at relationships and we think:
|
- What relationships has God given me?
- How am I nurturing them?
- What is God challenging me about in the area of relationships?
- And how may I help others with, in and through these?
Relationships require nurture and care just as anything else does. This week we are encouraged to reflect on our existing relationships with others and with God and make a commitment to the ongoing care of them.
|
We are better with other people. Life is easier when joys and difficulties are shared. We are called to be in relationship. So how do we ensure that our relationships are nourished and cared for?
|
We look forward this week to exploring this with you.

Mainly Music is Back
Mainly Music returns is on Fridays, arrive for a 9:30am start to your movement and music event. A $4. donation is asked per family. If you know of a local family with pre-schoolers please recommend this group to them. It is a great way for parents and carers to spend quality time with their pre-schoolers and, as importantly, get to have some quality adult company. This group is open to all families with pre-schoolers. Mainly Music runs during school term times during Covid level 1only.
|
Able bodied helpers URGENTLY required
Mainly Music is a great mission, it runs school term only on Fridays at 9.30am. It provides an educational quality time for careers and pre-schoolers. We need volunteers to move all the chairs to the side of the church so we have an activity space for the families. If you are able to help move chairs Thursday, to set up, or on Friday at about 10:30am, after the session, please call Meg Norton 473 8444.

Community Shop
Our new Community Shop continues to do well and draw in the community and customers. Many thanks to all who support this venture. The shop had takings just in excess of $9,100 for the month of July. For those who have yet to visit the new shop, it is located further down Inverness Rd in a larger brighter building that allows us to hold more stock on premises. Although the physical address of the shop is 38 Clyde Rd the entrance-way is on Inverness Rd just up from the ASB bank, (next to the Japanese restaurant. Go and have a look at our new shop.

Anglican Missions
Get one- Give One Campaign.
Get-one. Give-one is an Anglican Church wide and New Zealand wide campaign aimed at supporting access to the Covid Vaccine globally via the COVAX alliance. So far they have raised over $38,000 and every donation brings us closed to global safety from Covid.
|
In being thankful for the availability of vaccines in New Zealand, we are aware that many people are not so fortunate. The Get one. Give one. Campaign aims to protect and support the poorest and most vulnerable. When you get your Covid-19 vaccine, please consider donating $10 so that one of the world's most vulnerable can get theirs. $50 covers a family of five and $100 covers two families!
|
Supporting the 'Get One. Give One.' campaign is simple. Donations are being directed through Givealittle, rather than through Anglican Missions.
|
Lets pass our gratitude on because "We're only safe if Everyone's safe".
|
In New Zealand the Covid vaccine is Free to everyone aged over 16.

Cyber safety.
Auckland Dioceses have made us aware of a scams currently targeting churches. People are emailed, apparently by the clergy, and asked for money to support a person in need. If you receive any email asking you for money, gift-cards or anything similar, please ignore it and delete it. It is recommended you report it to the Police and/or Netsafe. You will never be asked for money or gift cards via email. Please only give money to St Mary by the Sea, via online banking (details below) or EFTPOS at St Mary by the Sea.
|
This is a timely reminder to all parishioners to be cautious of any email asking for money or gift cards. Auckland Diocese has a policy that clergy in the Anglican Church do not ask for funds directly in this way.

Prayer for Persecuted Believers
I am a local Christian and run a small prayer group using information from Barnabas Fund, Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors and other organisations. We pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in nations where it is illegal for them to practice their faith, or even own a Bible, and also thank God for answered prayer.
|
If you have a particular nation or people group on your heart please feel free to come and share, so we can join together in prayer.
|
At present, we meet every second Monday of the month at Northcross Church, and start with refreshments at 7pm before we pray.
|
You will be made very welcome, and for more information please contact Margaret Marriott at mamarriott@xtra.co.nz or 021 0242 2641
