Hi [subscriber:firstname], we are excited to announce that with the government allowing gatherings of 100 people, we resumed in-person worship last Sunday. This Trinity Sunday the 7th June we meet at 8am and 10am. We will continue to offer online worship at 10am on YouTube while the need exists for this in level 2. We hope to see you online, or in person this Sunday.

Level 1 Excitement
It looks like we will be at Level 1 shortly. We have big plans. We're going to be doing a regular intergenerational games night so we can catch up and connect and next week we'll be starting a new worship and teaching series called "Unraveled: Seeking God When Our Plans Fall Apart". The last few months have been challenging in many ways and this will be a time to reflect and contemplate on the ways that our lives have been unraveled by circumstances and how God works to both challenge and transform us.

In-person worship - St Mary by the Sea
We hold three in person worship services:
|
- Sunday 8am communion
- Sunday 10am communion
- Wednesday 10am communion & Bible Study
For now, in level 2, none of these services are like they were before lock-down. While we can’t wait to get back to worship… we are being cautious. We have made changes that are in line with current best practice as described by the Covid-19 information produced by the NZ Government.
|
The key thing is that During Level 2 we’ll be maintaining social distancing and hygiene practices such as as:
|
- Using hand sanitiser or washing hands when we enter and exit church, as well as when using the bathroom or serving food.
- Signing-in via our contract tracing app (SimpleTrace) or the sign in sheet
- Keeping distance between anyone who doesn’t live in our bubble. This means:
- no hugging,
- no kissing,
- no shaking hands
- Using sign language to pass the peace
- Listening to music rather than singing. Singing has spread the virus overseas, so for now, no singing.
- Sanitising furniture and high use areas between and after services.
We will be continuing to offer an online worship option for those who are not able or ready to be part of larger groups. We will review this once we see how many people are using this as their worship on a Sunday morning.
|
We ask that if you are sick or have any cold or flu symptoms including runny/blocked nose, cough, sneezing, temperature, sore throat, aches and pains, loss of smell that you stay at home until you are better. You can attend worship when you have been symptom free for three days. If you are concerned about your or your loved ones health, please contact your GP or Healthline 0800 358 5453
|
|
We look forward to seeing you on-line or in-person.

Sunday 7th June 2020
Trinity Sunday
Today we remember that we worship One God, who we experience in three different ways. God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The key is that God values community and God works in relationship. We see that relationship through the way the Father and Son relate to each other, and their relationship with the Holy Spirit. The key in this is unity in diversity. May you fully experience God, as Creator, Redeemer and Giver of Life.

Online Worship Stream
We are live online with YouTube, Sunday 10:02am. If you join at 10:05, you will miss the first 3 minutes, just like if you turn up to church late. Join at 10:00am and you’ll have a two minute count down to the 10:02am start. If you miss out on the start, come back after 10:40 and you’ll be able to see the service from the beginning. The link to our YouTube Chanel is the same each week. Click the button below for the YouTube channel.

After Service Chit-Chat
There will be no Zoom ChitChat after the online service this week.

Worship Preparation
If you're meeting for worship online, how about preparing a space for worship? Create a special space for worship. What about when you turn the computer or TV on for YouTube, that you light a candle, get your bible, notebook, Pen and drink. Make this your worship space for the next 30 minutes.

Covid-19
We are currently at Level 2
Vestry have decided that the buildings limit during level 2 are:
|
- St Mary by the Sea - max. 100 people
- Hall - max. 25 people
At this stage during Level 2, worship will continue to be offered both in-person and online. This will be reviewed as the government release new guidelines. We expect to review this when Cabinet next review the settings of Alert Level 2 on 8 June and 22 June. We will let you know what impact their decisions have on us as soon aw we can.

Level 2 info - covid19.govt.nz
Play it safe
These are the most important things that you can remember and do:
|
- COVID-19 is still out there. Play it safe.
- Keep your distance from other people in public.
- If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t go to work or school. Don’t socialise.
- If you have symptoms of cold or flu call your doctor or Healthline and get advice about being tested.
- Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
- Sneeze and cough into your elbow, regularly disinfect surfaces.
- If you have been told to self-isolate you must do so immediately.
- Keep a track of where you’ve been and who you’ve seen.
Controls at Alert Level 2
Alert Level 2 is not life as normal, some restrictions and other measures remain in place to reduce the risk of transmission.
|
- We need to maintain physical distancing.
- Only small, controlled gatherings will be permitted.
- Physical distancing, hygiene standards and contact registers (where required) will make businesses safe.
Funerals
Clergy can officiate at a funeral. But it would be a small gathering of no more than 100 people in total. If asked to officiate at a funeral in level 2, we can also offer the option of a memorial service at a later stage for a larger gathering when that is safe and possible.
|
Outreach
Mainly Music remains closed. We are looking at resuming in term 3.
|
St Mary by the Sea
St Mary by the Sea is open at level 2 for prayer. We are not an open-public space, at this level we need to control the safety of our environment, so things will be a bit different to what you are accustomed to.
|
- We will be removing the common points of contact, like prayer lists and pens. We will not be distributing anything from the church, and we specifically aren't allowed to distribute paper.
- Access is available to the foyer and toilets. To access other areas you need to liaise with Debbie and Dion.
- If you wish to meet with Debbie or Dion, this will happen in the foyer.
- Solid surfaces will be regularly sanitised.
- Doors will be left open so that they aren't a common point of touch
- You need to "Sign-in" in the entrance after having sanitised your hands
- In level 2 you will need to call ahead, as the building is only open by appointment, please phone Dion or Debbie (numbers below)
- This will be reviewed as the government release new guidelines.
