Seasonal & Special Services
Weddings
It is part of the church's ministry to marry those who wish to have a Christian
marriage. If you would like to be married in our church, please feel
free to contact us.
We will make a time to meet you and discuss your needs. Before agreeing
to marry a couple, the vicar would like to be satisfied
that
the couple is ready for the commitment of marriage, and he may
therefore require you to attend a marriage preparation course.
Baptisms
Children are welcomed into membership
of the Church in Baptism, when their parents and Godparents make a commitment
to bring them up in the Christian
faith. If you wish to have your child baptised in our church, please
feel free to contact us
and we will make a time to meet you and discuss your needs. Parents wishing
to have their children baptised may be asked to
attend a preparation course.
Adults are also welcomed in Baptism if they have not been baptised before
(see also Confirmations and Renewals).
Confirmations and Renewals
We offer the opportunity for people to make a public confession of faith
through a special Service called Confirmation and Renewal. In this Service,
the Bishop, with the laying on of hands, prays for those who would like
to acknowledge or Confirm their baptismal vows made on their behalf when
baptised as an infant. Also, others who have been through a Confirmation
Service in the past may like to publicly renew their vows to God. This
Service gives the opportunity for people to express their faith publicly
and meaningfully. If a person has not been baptised previously, and desires
this, a Service can be arranged for them with full immersion or sprinkling
of water. Other appropriate opportunities for a person to express publicly
their faith and commitment to Christ, such as the renewing of baptismal
vows by immersion if previously baptised, can be arranged.
Please contact the
Vicar.
Funerals and Memorial Services
It is part of the church's ministry to carry out funerals and memorial
services. This ministry is not restricted to parishioners and is
open to anyone who asks for it. If you would like the church to conduct
a funeral or a memorial service please feel free to contact us.
